Certificate in Therapeutic Play

This course is designed for people whose work already involves playing with children (0 to 10 years old) but who want to be able to offer therapeutic play to the children who need it. Participants will experience a wide range of therapeutic play techniques including sandplay, puppetry, directive and non-directive play interventions. They will also learn how to enhance the therapeutic potential of messy play, construction play, make-believe play.

Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children and Adolescents Using the Arts

Two courses are being offered:
Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children Using the Arts (12 days)
Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children and Adolescents Using the Arts
(14 days)

These courses will equip child professionals with key skills in counselling children and adolescents using art images and mental images to develop and deepen the work. Ideal for those people whose work already involves speaking to children about their feelings but who have had no formal training in counselling skills.

Diploma in Child Counselling

This course is ideal for those people whose work already involves helping troubled children, but who have had no formal training in counselling. The course will enable child professionals to become effective and ethical child counsellors. After successful completion of the course, and with additional supervised client hours, students will be eligible to apply for nationally recognised registration in counselling and child counselling.

 Diploma in Parent-Child Therapy

This course is designed to train professionals and practitioners to:
* Enable parents and children to have the best possible relationship with each other
* Improve the quality of parent-child interaction on a daily basis
* Empower parents with the relational resources which will enhance their child’s  well-being on a long term basis
* Enable parents to feel deeply fulfilled in their parental role

The course offers attachment based interventions as it is centrally concerned with the healing of relationships rather than simply changing behaviour.
