Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children - Using the Arts
This course will equip child professionals with key skills in counselling children. Ideal for those people whose work already involves speaking to children about their feelings, but who have had no formal training in counselling skills.
'Enabling Children to Speak About Feelings Through the Arts' Series
By and large, these training days will be structured with case material in the morning, demonstrating how children and adolescents have been enabled to speak about their feelings through a particular art form. In the afternoon there will be time to experience for yourself the communicative power of the art form. You will take away a host of safe tools and techniques.
Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT): Filial Therapy Model Cost: £250
Two day course / workshop - Thursday 20 May and Friday 21 May 2010
This two-day workshop will focus on the dynamic relationship facets of training parents to be therapeutic agents in their children’s lives. Using a format of lectures, demonstration play sessions and supervision, practitioners are taught how to support parents with basic child-centred play therapy principles and skills.
Principles in Child Protection: What You Need To Know About Working Ethically. Cost: £125

This day will aim to increase child professionals' confidence and competence in dealing with child protection situations which may arise in their practice. The day will begin with an overview of the current legal and policy context within which services to children are situated. How you should deal with concerns or disclosures in line with statutory child protection procedures will then be discussed.
Healing Parent-Child Relationships
Two day course: Thursday 22 April and Friday 23 April 2010
In this ‘hands-on’ intensive training, participants will learn how to heal parent-child relationships which have suffered from too many misconnections, failed connections or attachment ruptures. The trainer will offer an approach that capitalises on the strengths and resources of both child and parent. A special emphasis will be placed on the practitioner’s creative use of self and inventiveness.
Diploma in Parent-Child Therapy

Diploma in Child Counselling
This course is ideal for those people whose work already involves speaking to children about their feelings, but who have had no formal training in counselling.The course will enable child professionals to become effective and ethical child counsellors. After successful completion of the course, and with additional supervised client hours, students will be eligible to apply for nationally recognised registration in counselling and child counselling.
Certificate in the Emotional Needs of the Child: Assessment and Action Planning
In this course, students will be trained to observe children’s behaviour, to be able to assess their underlying needs and to have a wealth of practical strategies to meet or address those needs. Hence the course is central for making The Common Assessment Framework work and also for meeting the requirements of Every Child Matters. This course will be a vital resource for any professional working with children whether in an educational, health, care or social service setting. It will be of particular value to those with responsibility for children's behaviour, emotional health and well being and learning.
