About the conference

This conference is a must for any child professional who feels anxious, de-skilled or out of their depth to help children and teenagers who, in a desperate state, turn aggressively against themselves. Presenters will support delegates to shift from impotent bystanders to be able to engage these children/teenagers in meaningful dialogue to move from self-destructive ways of being in the world to healthier energised engagement.

What you'll learn from attending

  • Understand the neuroscience and psychology of self-harm and how you can use this knowledge to better support the young person involved
  • Hear about an amazingly hopeful intervention for young people who’ve hit rock bottom and are in police cells
  • Know about how to be, what to say and what to do with children and teenagers who ‘feel like crap’
