All Events

We are delighted to offer delegates a full range of training events. These comprise one day conferences, training days and lectures. With our conferences we bring you the very best brains in the mental health field from all over the world. Over the years we have welcomed speakers from a great many countries, including several hundred acclaimed child mental health professionals from the UK who have offered lectures and workshops. Our training days are all designed to enable children to thrive with particular emphasis on helping children to speak about feelings rather than acting them out or bottling them up.

All training days are run by senior Arts Psychotherapists with years of experience in working with children in both education and psychotherapy. Finally, our lectures celebrate the work of true pioneers in their particular field. Speakers are all of international acclaim.

ENABLING CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS TO SPEAK ABOUT FEELINGS THROUGH MULTI-ARTS

About the training day

A child’s primary language for feelings is not one of everyday language; however, enter the realm of image and metaphor, and given the right art media, they often speak profoundly and with ease. Through the use of case studies, supporting theory and experiential exercises participants will learn how to use painting, drawing and other art forms to support children to speak about their feelings in safe and contained ways. Participants will gain practical tools and techniques suitable for one-to-one work, groups and the whole class.
