With over 40 years as a Senior Child Psychotherapist, Dr Jeanne Magagna has contributed hugely to the field of child mental health and child psychotherapy, through her many books and papers and her clinical work, including many years as Head of Psychotherapy Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
We are so fortunate that she will now present key insights about the causes of mental health problems in infants and children and then how they heal. Not to be missed.
About the presenter
Dr Jeanne Magagna
Jeanne received her doctorate from a joint programme of the University of East London and the Tavistock Clinic. Recently, she has served as the Head of Psychotherapy Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and as Consultant Psychotherapist at the Ellern Mede Centre for Eating Disorders. She started and headed Centro Studi Martha Harris Observation Courses involving MA from Tavistock Clinic and Child Psychotherapy Trainings in Florence and Venice, Italy for many years.
Her professional interests include preventative work with infants, eating disorders, self-harm. Her multi-lingual publications include editing or jointly editing 'Universals of Psychoanalysis' with Marie Saba Viele, 'Psychotherapy with Families'; 'Crises in Adolescence'; 'Intimate Transformations: Babies with their Families'; 'The Silent Child: Communication without Words' (Karnacs, 2012); 'Observacion du Bebes' (Observation of Babies) (Mexico City, Mexico: PAIDOS, 2012); 'Creativity and Psychotic States' (Routledge:2015) and 'Bebegi Anlamak' (Infant Observation) (Istanbul: Baglam Press: 2016).
