(Delegates, Child Protection training, 2020)
This day will aim to increase child professionals' confidence and competence in dealing effectively and ethically with child protection situations which may arise in their practice. The day will begin with an overview of the current legal and policy context, within which services to children are situated. Definitions of abuse and neglect will be considered including how children may present their experience of these painful life experiences, not only verbally but through their behaviour, play and art work. How you should deal with concerns or disclosures in line with statutory child protection procedures will then be discussed.
